How To Save Money On
Your Canoe Trip |
Canoe/kayak camping trips down the Upper
Missouri River are very economical once you get
here. Unless you are coming from in-state you will
have spent far more than you will pay for our
services long before you meet us. It’s a long drive
from anywhere and flying into Great Falls is
expensive due to our remote location.
We are moving away from listing on our site every
single little price on every canoe/kayak or article
of camping gear we have available. It’s really just
chump change. Also, it’s worth noting that Montana
has no sales tax and the management authority
(Bureau of Land Management) does not charge for
camping except at Kipp Rec. Area.
One couple paddling one canoe for 3 days will pay
about $40 per person per day for the canoe and the
shuttle service. This will include delivery of the
canoe to the most popular put-in (Coal Banks
Landing) and delivery of your private vehicle to the
take-out at Judith Landing, 47 miles downstream.
This is the least cost effective way to experience
this trip, however it is also the only option for
many of our guests. There are no other charges. The
parking is free, the launch is free, and the camping
is free. The only cheaper outdoor activity is
backpacking.
Larger groups will pay as little as $20 per person
because the basic cost of the service remains the
same while the cost is shared by more individuals.
The average is $25 person per day.

| All canoe rentals include life vests,
paddles, and free delivery to the put-in and pick-up at the
take-out. We may charge a nominal pick-up fee at Kipp if we have
no other work there. The 3% BLM user fee is always included. |
| Our popular “drop and go” makes renting from
us a breeze. We handle all deliveries and pick-up at no charge (Royalex/Poly
canoes and kayaks only). Simply arrive at the put-in and launch
your canoe/kayak. At the take-out rinse the boat and stack it
